Cleaning designer fabric
handbags or designer canvas handbags is very easy. Just follow these simple
steps.
· If the stain is
stubborn, you can try using a toothbrush to gently scour the stain.
However, be careful not to apply too much pressure while rubbing as this may
cause damage to the fabric.
· It's always a good
idea to apply Scotch Guard to a new fabric handbag. This will keep it
free from future stains and damage. Simply follow the instructions on the can
and apply every six months or as needed.
How to Clean Suede
Designer Purses
· Use a suede brush to lift the surface
of the suede. This helps to get some of the dirt out of it. You can use a pencil eraser
to remove some dirt marks or dry stains.
· Use a nubuck cloth, it will remove the
dirt from the fiber. This works best with ink stains.
Anything that didn't come
off, is likely to never come off.
· Try applying a little white vinegar
then use a cloth to scrub it off.
The Kiwi Suede and Nubuck
Cleaner is perfect and can be purchased at Walgreens for less than $6.
· Start using a suede protector which
will help keep out dirt from getting into the leather.
This makes any type of
cleaning easier in the future.
· Never use soap on
suede!
Designer Leather
Handbag Care
· In order for a leather handbag to age
gracefully with the natural darkening that comes with time, most do not come
pre-treated.
The first thing you
should do is treat your leather handbag with a good leather protector to
keep it well protected from stains.
· If your leather handbag does get a stain
before you are able to seal it with a protector, then use a good
leather cleaner.
The same kind of cleaner
for leather shoes would work just fine also. Simply follow the directions.
If the leather cleaner
does not work, you can always take your bag to a professional leather
cleaner.
· Once the stain is removed, re-condition the
leather with a good leather conditioner to restore it’s natural luster and
color.
This should be done at
least 2 times a year or as needed. Re-conditioning the leather will also keep
it free from dryness and cracking.
· If the leather becomes discolored, there
are several leather sprays on the market to restore the natural color.
· Never use soap or other cleaning solvents
on a leather handbag.
Because
leather is a porous material, these products will only cause further damage
and cracking.
· Never use Baby Wipes which contain alkaline
and will destroy the finish of the leather.
· Never store your leather designer handbag
in the bottom of a closet. The leather will absorb excess moisture which
causes mildew.
· Never store it in a plastic cover, as the
plastic will stick to it over time and add to discoloration. Store it in a
well ventilated area in the dust bag it was packaged in.

Meurice garment Care will charge me 150.00, but there's no guarantee that they could salvage my wallet. Please help!
ReplyDelete150.00 seems like high priced I would shop around. I just bought my wife an MK wallet for $96.
